ä Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante – Restaurant Review by Love. Eat. Wander.
“Where do you want to eat?” asked JimBry after parking. It was almost 2PM and we haven’t had our lunch yet.
“Bahala ka na mamili” my nonchalant reply.
JimBry hates it when the conversation goes that way when it comes to choosing food to eat or place to dine in, but he manages to get us through it all the time. He knows that our daughter loves anything noodles, and that I will be perked up with seafood option or chicken wings.
He brought us in ä Veneto. Our spirits were all lifted after.
ä Veneto is a small, no-nonsense hole-in-the-wall that specializes in New York-style pizza, pasta, salad, calzone, and sandwiches.
FOOD & RATES
JimBry knew what to get even without us talking. He ordered just two from the menu – pasta and chicken wings – and he was confident it’s all we need and wanted. He was right, we loved his order.
Fettucine with Seafood and Asparagus (PhP370.00) – Classic tarragon white cream sauce deliciously mixed with various seafood and vegetables. This white sauce pasta is very rich in flavor and oh so creamy!
Chicken Wings (PhP200.00) – Deep fried chicken wings and lollipops marinated in exotic herbs and spices smothered in rich sweet chili sauce. ä Veneto’s version of chicken wings had the flavor I was looking for.
Their two-page large menu was uncomplicated. The rates were a bit on the expensive side, but you’ll get your money’s worth of quality ingredients; plus, they have hefty servings. Each order can be shared between 2-3 people.
You can check their menu here.
THE PLACE
ä Veneto in Mall of Asia (can be found beside KFC at the North side, in front of the terminal) was not pretentious. It featured floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light. The place was small, and the interior was simple. It also looked a bit old and tatty. It definitely needs some upgrades.
If you are looking for a place with a homey and cozy atmosphere, or an intimate rendezvous, ä Veneto in Mall of Asia is not the perfect place to go to.
STAFF & SERVICE
Staff were all respectful and attentive.
We are certain that ä Veneto Pizzeria Ristorante is a go-to, fail-proof place to eat. Why? Because during dinner, that very same day, when JimBry met with his former officemates, they also had their dinner at ä Veneto! He said it was the majority’s decision to dine there. He did not tell them he just had his lunch there because he’s in no mood to walk and look for alternative.
