Botejyu Review – Menu, Prices, Branches

Spread the love

Botejyu is best known as an okonomiyaki specialty restaurant. But we love it not because of its specialty but because it features the wide and diverse regional culinary specialties of entire Japan! This place is a tasty and sumptuous one-stop shop for everything Japanese. All you can get from their extensive, impressive menu taste oh so heavenly! We are talking from experience because we loved everything we tried!

Botejyu was established in Osaka back in 1946. It is known as Japan’s Pioneer Okonomiyaki and Okosoba Specialty Restaurant Chain. We know that there are specialty Japanese shops for each popular dish found in Osaka, Aomori, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Oita, Kagawa, Kanagawa, Fukushima, Hokkaido, and Tokyo, but we can assure you that you can actually find them all in just one place – you can find them all at Botejyu!

OUR ORDERS – BOTEJYU MENU AND PRICES

Special Tonkotsu Ramen (₱475) – Our default order. This bowl of thick, milky pork broth topped with juicy tender pieces of Char Sui and aji tamago includes soft yet firm noodles. Botejyu’s ramen tastes at par with those of the specialty ramen shops you can think of. The creamy broth, the tender grilled chasiu, and the springy noodles were all merged in perfection. Regular Tonkotsu Ramen costs ₱425, and you can choose to add ₱50 for extra slices of charsiu. Tipid Tip: Buy extra noodles worth ₱75 and share the soup from your bowl of ramen to come up with 2 ramen bowls!

Pork Tonpei Yaki (₱275) – This dish features bits of pork and some veggies hugged inside fluffy egg blanket and drizzled with mayonnaise and another kind of savory sauce. Delicious on the first few bites but has the “umay” factor.

Kalbi Teppan (₱225) – Another one of our default order when dining at Botejyu. This delicious, sweet dish looks very much like a beefsteak but in very thin, small slices. I do not usually like eating onions but I can literally “papak” onions from this dish.

California Roll (255) – I personally loved the combination of creamy textures in this mix of avocado, lettuce, and crab meat rolled in rice and covered with fish roe. An order of this dish can be shared.

Charsiu (₱225) – This specialty features tender, juicy pork with a subtle hint of smoky notes from the grill. It was glazed with a special soy-based sweet and savory sauce. The vegetables on the side of the dish healthily complemented the rather layers of fat and lightly charred edges of the pork. Yummy!

Rice Set (₱95) – a set composed of rice, kimchi, and miso soup.

BOTEJYU BRANCHES

The branches we usually dine in are located in SM Dasmarinas and Festival Mall, Alabang.

SM Dasma branch staff are the best! They are very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. It’s just that, this Botejyu branch doesn’t have its own CR and you have to go all the way down the first floor (the resto is on the 2nd floor) of the mall if you will be using the loo.

Festival Mall branch is okay.

See all of the Botejyu branches below. They are open from Monday-Sunday, 10AM to 10PM.
