I gave up the hope of tasting authentic shawarma a long time ago when my Dad, who’s a Saudi boy, said we’ll never have a good one here. I already found comfort in the popular Turks since the thing already blended well with Filipinos’ taste buds even if we all know that something is missing between the pita wraps. But when I tasted Boy Shawarma in Malate, boy oh boy, I knew right that very moment that my Dad was so wrong and I cannot wait to tell him. I’ve found the shawarma taste he’s been looking for! I am excited to bring it home.

SHAWARMA BOY FOOD & RATES

No drama, no tweaking, all great taste.

We only spent less than ₱500 on 7-inch Fat Boy Steak Wrap, Chicken Shawarma Rice, and Steak Shawarma Rice.

The 7-inch chicken shawarma only costs ₱95. Just add ₱20 for authentic garlic sauce if you want an extra kick. To include additional fries and drinks in your order, just add ₱30.

If you are going there alone, you’re sure go home fully stuffed for only ₱300!

Boy Shawarma’s place was so unkempt and it smelled musky old! The restroom was the worst. Aside from the leaking faucet and moldy floor, the flush wasn’t working, too! Roaches are roaming oh so freely to and fro. The interior needs a little updating and upgrading. The place requires a total overhaul.

Also, we hope they use plates and utensils instead of paper wax, paper cups, and plastic spoons and forks for a better dining experience. Lol.

BOY SHAWARMA STAFF

Staff were snobbish and very unaccommodating. You can definitely feel they do not care if you buy/eat their food or not.

LOVE. EAT. WANDER. SAY

If you’re going here, we recommend the Shawarma with Siracha, but consider to take your order out.
