Taiwan is one of the culinary centers of East Asia. Taiwanese cuisine draws a lot of influence from traditional Chinese food but has developed its own style of eclectic cuisine. Food, according to Taiwan culture, is a national obsession and that makes it very interesting.

Mazendo Restaurant in S. Maison Mall was the very first Taiwanese restaurant we dined at. We were very satisfied with our orders that we visit the place whenever there’s a chance. Taiwanese restaurants are very limited around Metro Manila so when we heard about Fat Fook, another Taiwanese restaurant with a branch in Glorietta, we made sure to eat there when we were in the area.

FAT FOOK MENU & PRICES – OUR ORDERS

You can check Fat Fook’s menu on this link. During our visit, we ordered the following:

  • Tan Tan Mien – ₱188
  • Beef Tendon Hotpot – ₱308
  • Spicy Beef Noodles – ₱368
  • Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao (5 pcs) – ₱168
  • Wintermelon Tea with Pearls – ₱112
  • Plain Rice – ₱48
  • Service Charge – ₱108

TOTAL = ₱1,300

Love. Eat. Wander Say: Except for the beef tendon, everything else tasted great, especially the Spicy Beef Noodles which we surprisingly loved. Even Skye enjoyed it! Their Wintermelon Milktea is one for the record. Get it to quench your thirst!

For the price – their food options are more expensive than Mazendo Restaurant.

We noticed that Fat Fook does not adjust their food recipes to suit the Filipino palate; we love the authenticity! It’s like experiencing Taiwan’s culture on a budget.

The branch we dined at was in Glorietta. The place was a bit small. Service was slow and the staff were not so attentive, maybe because of the crowd. It was right smack around dinner when we visited.
