Hakata Ikkousha Ramen Review – Festival Mall
Hakata Ikkousha is a place where you can enjoy award-winning bowls of ramen. This ramen restaurant won as the Ultimate Ramen Champion in the competition held in Singapore several years back. Its great quality is acclaimed worldwide.
Hakata Ikkousha’s name literally translates to “one happy place”. The owner, Kousuke Yoshimura, aims to make everyone happy with each bowl of Hakata ramen that they serve which is made of 100% tonkotsu soup. Each bowl of their ramen has a very satisfying taste. It feels like you are eating a bowl of happiness.
HAKATA IKKOUSHA MENU – OUR ORDERS & PRICES
We’ve been to Hakata Ikkousha several times already. It is one of our go-to ramen houses in the South. Some other places where you can enjoy a bowl of ramen are Ramen Nagi, Ikkoryu Fukouka Ramen, and Ramen Yushoken.
Every time we dine at Hakata Ikkousha, we always order the same food off their menu and these are:
Tonkotsu Ramen (₱320) – the original Hakata-style, full-bodied, and collagen-rich ramen. Tonkotsu soup is from pork bones that are carefully boiled to perfection until it turns cloudy white in color. It has a rich, thick, and creamy taste. If you want to upgrade your order, take Special Tonkotsu Ramen (₱450). It comes with four pieces of cha-su and two pieces of ajitama or Japanese-style flavored egg.
Shio Ton (₱290) – this ramen is very much like Tonkotsu but with not-so-creamy broth. Tonkotsu tastes better.
One-Bite Gyoza (₱200 for 10pcs) – Hakata Ikkousha (and Uma Uma) gyozas are the best out there. Each piece has a generous tasty filling with a nice toasty crunch on the outside.
Karaage (Chicken) (₱150 for 3 pcs) – JimBry really likes this version of fried chicken. It’s crispy on the outside but moist and tasty inside.
Tipid tip: If you are dining with kids, just add Kaedama (₱60) and share the broth to come up with another bowl of ramen.
When ordering at Hakata Ikkousha, you will be given a form to fill out. Through the form, you can specify the kind of ramen you want such as the saltiness, noodle texture, included toppings, etc.
There are three ways to customize your ramen toppings. The a.) Regular comes with the standard toppings (one cha-shu slice, kikurage, and spring onions), the b.) Ajitama comes with the regular toppings plus additional egg, and the c.) Special which has everything of the regular toppings plus another seasoned egg and three slices of cha-shu.
You may also try the Black ramen which has a smoky and garlicky flavor or the spicy Godfire ramen.
