Kawasan Falls Cebu Tour Guide

Spread the love

Kawasan Falls is another place you ought to see when you visit Cebu. Why? Because this waterfall is one of the most photographed waterfalls in the world. Good enough, right?

The place was beautiful. The turquoise-colored water looked magnificent. Although we suggest that you do not expect too much. The place is a popular attraction to both locals and tourists, so expect a crowd. It is impossible to get a quiet moment here. The photo below was taken several years ago when Kawasan Falls hasn’t yet invaded social media.

Kawasan Falls is a three-tiered waterfall. The first waterfall is the most beautiful of them all. If you want to see the second and third waterfalls, just climb the stairs leading up.

Ride a taxi or a jeepney bound for South Bus Terminal near Elizabeth Mall.

Buy your ticket from the counter and hop in the bus bound for Bato via Barili. Tell the driver/conductor that you are going to Kawasan Falls in Badian and request that you be dropped off there.

Bus Cost and Schedule

  • The first bus leaves at 4AM. There’s a trip leaving every 30 minutes after the first departure. The last bus leaves at 9PM.
  • Bus Fare: ₱130-₱150
  • Travel time: 3.5 hours

  • Locals: ₱20
  • Foreign Tourist: ₱40

There are habal-habal/motorcycle riders waiting along the road where the bus will drop you off. They will offer rides to the waterfalls. Do not listen to them. Take note that the walk is only around 10 minutes. It’s a nice, refreshing stroll with scenic views. It’s best to burn some fats.

Also, if you are staying in the South of Cebu for a day and will not do canyoneering, you can make Kawasan Falls as you side trip after Swimming with the Whaleshark in Oslob. If you are feeling rather outdoorsy, you can also try climbing Osmena Peak and traverse to Kawasan Falls for only P1,500.

If you are the type of person who loves the adrenaline rush, do the canyoneering activity. Tour guides are available in the registration area. The rate per person for Kawasan Canyoneering Activity is ₱1,500 per person. The rate includes lunch, safety shoes, helmets, vest, etc. You can leave some of your staff on the tour guides’ center. The last batch allowed to do the activity is at 2PM.

Tip: If you can do the Canyoneering from Alegria to Kawasan Falls, that would be excellent. We haven’t done that but the locals we spoke with said that is the peak of the entire experience; in movies, it’s the blockbuster! Check out discounted Badian Canyoneering Adventure below. Make a splash as you bravely jump off towering cliffs as high as 30 feet!

There are a lot of things to do in Cebu. If you are really into outdoor adventure, it is best to stay for 2-3 days in the South of the province to satisfy your cravings for nerve-wracking experiences.
