Som’s Noodle House – Makati, Manila Philippines

Spread the love

Som’s Noodle House is not the place to go to if you are looking for nice, relaxing, and romantic ambience. It is a rugged place (imagine an extended garage) that requires renovation and some touch of decorations. No matter how tattered this place looks like, you will see luxury cars lined-up outside the diner. They belong to their patrons.

Som’s Noodle House is well-known for their flavorful curries and soup noodles.

FOOD & PRICE

Foods at Som’s are customizable to your taste – just let the staff know the level of sweetness or spiciness that you prefer.

Tom Yam Soup (Php250) – comes with seafood (shrimp and squid). The soup has lemon grass, yellow ginger, chili paste, and Kaffir leaves. It’s a little bit sour and spicy.

Green Curry (Php200)sweet and savory. You can choose between beef, pork, chicken, or seafood. We had pork with mild level of spiciness.

Others: Chicken Noodles (Php120), Spring Roll (Php120), Chicken Pandal (Php150)

Make sure you try their Pad Thai – their signature dish. I personally liked their Seafood Pad Thai for Php250.

SOM’S NOODLE HOUSE PLACE

Som’s Noodle House is a lot smaller now but still has the same “homey” feel like the old one. Likewise, it still offers no fancy ambience. It’s a typical hole in the wall which is very easy to miss. From the outside, it looks like an ordinary house amidst other residential buildings. The place even smells like mold. Regardless of the structural changes, Som’s still boasts delectable Thai foods for affordable prices. Needless to say, you come here for an authentic taste of Thai foods.

They are now located at 6936 Gloria Street Poblacion, Makati (not Enriquez Street) – just behind the old Som’s Noodle House (if you have been there before). Please note that their new Google Map location is not yet updated. You may try reaching them at (02) 836-0075 or +639152603640
