You might have been routed here because you searched “Where to find jobs online.”

Due to the pandemic, many companies have shifted to use a virtual workforce. Aside from cost-efficiency, they can also take advantage of the vast pool of available experts and professionals online.

A big percentage of the global workforce has also decided to work virtually from home. Because, why not? Working from home saves you gas and commute time. Plus, you don’t have to wake up early to get to work on time. If you’re looking for a freelancing job, check out these sites where you can find your dream job!

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is great if you’re a professional job seeker. The site uses networking. You can use your colleagues, friends, and family members to help you build a professional network, references, and recommendations. It’s not only suitable for a freelance position but also corporate jobs, specifically in copywriting, graphic design, and translation.

There are businesses posting job opportunities on this site that you can apply for.

This platform offers a basic plan that’s free for everyone. If you want additional features, you can take advantage of other plans such as Premium Career, Premium Business, Sales Navigator Professional, and Recruiter Life. Paid plan users have unlimited messaging service and a Sales Navigator.

Upwork

Upwork is probably one of the most famous freelancing sites today. It is suitable for jobseekers looking for domestic and international work. You can create a free profile to advertise your skills and easily apply for jobs on the site through “connect currency“.

There are two plans available for job seekers: Freelancer Basic (FREE account) receives 10 free Connects each month, and Freelancer Plus ($14.99/month) accounts receive 70 free Connects each month (including 10 FREE!). You can top up Connect by buying. 10 Connects cost $1.50.

There are a lot of job opportunities in Upwork, and clients on the site often hire immediately. There’s also a straightforward and easy-to-use payment system.

Fiverr

Fiverr claims that they have “11 million satisfied businesses,” which boasts impressive clienteles like Facebook, Netflix, and Google. They have a business plan that allows teams to use their platform to connect with tenured freelancers with fantastic business experience.

It also has 200 different job categories, which include gig work and ongoing projects. It offers job opportunities for various professionals such as graphic designers, developers, writers, musicians, social media marketers, and voiceover artists. Fiverr offers a 24/7 customer support center that can answer your questions.

Compared to other freelancing sites, Fiverr provides free membership. There’s no need to pay for future subscriptions or advertisement fees. However, they have a high commission charge, clients can cancel their projects, and they have an extended payment process.

Freelancer.com

Freelancer is another well-known freelancing job site. This Australian-based platform allows employers to hire from 50 million freelancers offering 1,800 different skills.

Freelancers can bid on any project they fancy working on. These projects can be paid hourly or at a fixed rate. The platform also offers 39 currencies and has a 24/7 customer support center.

One of the cons of this platform came from one of its pros. Having to pay in different currencies can be a double-edged sword, and some people find this challenging. Not only that! They also have high fees with 10 percent fees on projects and 20 percent fees on services.

Toptal

Toptal is an exclusive freelancing job, with only 3 percent of freelance talent. The site connects freelancers like software developers, designers, finance designers, product managers, and project managers to potential clients.

Freelancers need to apply and be approved to join the site officially. Once approved, there will be recruiters and experts that will pair you with available jobs. They have a short application processing time. Within 48 hours, you will know whether you got accepted or not.

Toptal freelancers get flexible payment. They also don’t have any project fees. Plus, they have a broad global reach, amounting to 158 countries. Besides those, they also work for 16,000 clients like Airbnb, Bridgestone, and other Fortune 500 companies.

Flexjobs

Flexjobs offers flexible and remote job opportunities for freelancers, part-timers, and full-time job seekers. You can be assured that all the jobs on this site are legitimate. The platform verifies and screens their job openings, ensuring that there are no scams or fake companies.  They are also one of the few platforms that don’t display advertisements on their page.

You need to sign up and choose from their four subscription plans, which will give you unlimited access to their platform. Users can pay via credit card or Paypal with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, allowing users to get a refund if they are unsatisfied with the site. Despite the wide range of available jobs, some jobs still can’t be found on this platform.

SimplyHired

SimplyHired is a straightforward job board that allows companies to post job opportunities without spending a dime. This platform consolidates online job opportunities into a single page. The site is also user-friendly and has a clean interface, making it easy for users to browse online jobs.

Different freelance opportunities are offered here, like finance and marketing. You can also access company pages to learn salary information, company overview, benefits, and employee reviews.  It also helps that you can browse the platform even if you didn’t create a profile. The only downside of SimplyHired is possible spam from third-party websites.
